Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the psychosocial phenomenon of disenfranchised grief among LGBTQ communities
  • Articulate best practices for counseling bereaved LGBTQ clients and tools for strengthening coping skills to support them through the experience of loss
  • Identify three ways bereavement can look different within LGBTQ communities

Biography:

Annie Mosely, LCSW, has worked in the field of Social Work for fifteen years. She specializes in HIV Social Work since 2010, currently at University Health. She also runs a small private practice, focusing on grief/loss. Annie is a former teacher committed to lifelong learning and provides community trainings around: HIV, Grief and Loss, ADHD in Adult Women, Gerontology and LGBTQIA specializations.
