The event will begin with a brief presentation by Mark Sawkin, a Pharmacist in the American Academy of HIV Medicine, and will continue with a panel Q&A with a Physician Assistant who specializes in HIV Care (Sara Potter at the KC Care Clinic) and several Community Prevention Specialists & Linkage to Care Coordinators (Frankie Barrera, Kia Price, and Seth Howerton, all at Thrive Health Connection).

Learning Outcomes

Participants will:

  • learn updated medical information regarding treatments, including information about “non-detectability,” prevention methods like “Prep,” and medication adherence strategies
  • discuss best practices for psychotherapy treatment with people diagnosed with HIV, including mental health impact and assessment
  • learn about local Kansas City resources for clients affected by HIV
